Over sixteen years of promoting Hellenism, supporting the Greek Orthodox faith
and celebrating excellence in education for future generations.
FAITH: An Endowment for Orthodoxy and Hellenism is an independent 501(c)(3) organization that supports the development of innovative educational, cultural, and scholarship programs for young people that promote an understanding of the Greek Orthodox faith, Hellenism, and the relationship of the two to America’s history and multicultural landscape.
In 2004, a select group of prominent Greek American leaders and philanthropists* representing a diversity of professional fields and philanthropic values founded “FAITH: An Endowment for Orthodoxy and Hellenism” in a response to a challenge issued by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America that cited a need for an endowment that would support significant educational and cultural initiatives in Orthodoxy and Hellenism throughout the United States of America.
Through the support of our Founding Members, the Endowment aims to support and continue its mission through grants, scholarship programs and other opportunities that arise to strengthen young people’s knowledge and relationship to the Orthodox faith and Hellenism throughout the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and other partner organizations.
In acknowledging the generosity and vision of the FAITH Founders, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America remarked, “On behalf of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, I extend the profound appreciation of the Church for the exemplary work and generosity of the Founding Members. They are true “Champions of Faith” as their support has built bridges of new opportunities in Hellenic Paideia (education) and Culture and in the promotion of Orthodoxy among the young people.” (2006)
