FAITH St. John Chrysostom Award Scholarships

For over a decade, FAITH has encouraged young speakers by awarding scholarships to the winners of the junior and senior divisions of the National St. John Chrysostom Oratorical festival. The festival gives students a local and national platform to write and speak about the impact their heritage and identities have in their lives and contemporary culture. Over the years, finalists have shared their perspective on topics such as utilizing science and technology within the Greek community and representing Greek Orthodox values in education to answering questions ranging from the importance of building Greek Orthodox friendships to promoting positivity within the culture of social media.

Since 2007, FAITH has supported approximately 25 scholarship awards annually to the winners of the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival.

In response to the FAITH scholarship awards to the finalists, Archbishop Demetrios expressed his gratitude: "On behalf of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, I extend the profound appreciation of the Church for the exemplary work and generosity of the Founding Members. They are true “Champions of Faith” as their support has enabled and strengthened the promotion of the mission and ministries of the Church and has built bridges of new opportunities in Hellenic Paideia (education) and culture in the promotion of Orthodoxy among the young people.”
