NEW YORK – FAITH announced that applications for the 2026 FAITH Scholarships for Academic Excellence are now available at thefaithendowment.org/scholarships. This merit-based opportunity is open to graduating high school seniors of Hellenic descent and/or Greek Orthodox faith who plan to attend a four-year accredited U.S. university this fall. The deadline for submission is June 26, 2026.
Recipients join the FAITH Scholar network, which has grown to include nearly 1,000 accomplished leaders within the Hellenic-American community. The network promotes academic achievement while offering opportunities to connect, collaborate, and build lasting relationships with fellow scholars across the country.
“I am proud to be part of the FAITH Scholar community because I believe it is a community of people who, like me, are committed to striving for academic excellence, determined to bring about change in their society and dedicated to growth,” said Vasilios V., a 2025 FAITH Scholar and freshman in Johns Hopkins University’s Arts and Sciences program.
United by a shared identity and a commitment to service, FAITH Scholars reflect both the intellectual legacy of their Hellenic heritage and the values of good citizenship rooted in the Greek Orthodox tradition. Graduating at the top of their classes, they pursue higher education at universities nationwide while remaining active leaders in their churches, campuses, and communities. On average, scholars complete 350 hours of community service, addressing issues such as social inequality, teen mental health, food insecurity, and environmental sustainability. Alumni have gone on to careers in medicine, research, biotechnology, education, and the arts.
“Along with invaluable financial support by FAITH to advance my studies, I became part of a very supportive network. FAITH Scholars are making meaningful impacts on their communities. The FAITH Founders proved to me I could pursue all my passions while making a difference,” said Elisavet G., a 2019 FAITH Scholar and graduate of Rutgers University, who now works as a systems engineer.
Scholarships are awarded on a merit basis, with applicants also eligible for additional need-based consideration. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
