Ms. Peggy Sotirhos Nicholson

Peggy Sotirhos Nicholson is the Executive Director of the FAITH Endowment and Executive Director of the Jaharis Family Foundation. She has twenty-five years of professional experience in developing, implementing, and managing educational programs, special events, and community outreach projects in education, the arts, higher education and non-profit organizations in New York and abroad.

Prior to working for FAITH, Peggy was Associate Director of Planning, Program and Curriculum Development at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where she created new international partnerships for study abroad programs, courses and special events in film and television production, photography, and theatre, which raised over $9.2 million in annual income for the School. Before Tisch, Peggy worked setting up NYU’s study abroad site in London and developing institutional partnerships with the BBC, Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, University of London and other UK-based institutions. She also taught seventh, eighth and tenth grade at the TASIS International School in Athens, Greece. Peggy has worked as consultant on several educational and teacher training initiatives for the Fulbright Foundation of Greece, US Dept. of Education/Fulbright Programs, Amideast, Columbia College of Chicago, and Columbia University’s International Institute of Peace Education.

Peggy received a Bachelors Degree cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, a Masters degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and did doctoral work at Columbia University in International Education with a concentration on film, and human rights. She has lived abroad in London and Athens and traveled extensively to develop international educational projects in Europe, Asia, Cuba, South Africa, Brazil, and Mexico.
